Rabbi Meir Moscowitz of Lubavitch Chabad of Northbrook will offer a four-session course from the Rohr Jewish Learning Institute, “Outsmarting Antisemitism.”
“Many Jews are anxious about rising antisemitism today and worry about how to respond to it,” Moskowitz said. “By exploring the mechanics of antisemitism and probing historical strategies for reducing it, this course offers a framework for confronting it head-on with purpose, positivity and pride.”
The course will examine the issue using a combination of history, Talmudic sources, Jewish mysticism and contemporary expert analysis. It is suited for community leaders and laypersons alike; Jewish Learning Institute programs are designed to appeal to people of all levels of knowledge in Jewish learning, including to those without any prior experience or background. The courses are open to the public and attendees don’t have to be affiliated with a particular house of worship.
“Outsmarting Antisemitism” is a four-week course with multiple sessions: 7:30-9 p.m. Tuesdays, Nov. 2-23, and 10-11:30 a.m. Sundays, Nov. 7-28, at Lubavitch Chabad of Northbrook, 2095 Landwehr Road; noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursdays, Nov. 2-Dec. 2, at the Law Offices of David Kaufman & Associates, 555 Skokie Blvd., Northbrook.
