Well, if you’ve ever seen their logo on a product such as toothpaste or shampoo, you might be wondering what exactly they do. The company was founded in 1837 by two men named William Procter and James Gamble who were both candle makers from England. They eventually started making soap and candles with vegetable oils which allowed them to expand their business into Europe. As technology progressed over the years, so did P&G’s products that we know today like Tide detergent and Crest toothpaste.
The difference between gambling and investing is the amount of time you plan to hold your assets. An investment is something that will generate income or add value for a longer period of time, while gambling is an activity with a negative expected rate of return in which money spent on it cannot be recovered. Gambling involves taking risks to attempt to win money whereas investing involves putting capital at risk in order to earn returns over the long term.
There are many similarities between these two activities: they both involve risking resources and both can potentially result in earning more than was risked (i.e., winnings). However, there are also distinct differences between them such as when you invest you can potentially lose everything but when you gamble your losses are limited.
It’s a question that people have been asking for years. As an adult we have seen less of them in stores and more of competitors’ brands on shelves. They are still around but not as visible as they once were. This made us wonder if there was some sort of difference between the two companies or if it was just marketing strategy behind each brand name to make us think there is one when really, they’re essentially the same product.
